The Great Wall

We are still here! And as promised, our trip to the Great Wall.

For those of you who have been to the Great Wall you will appreciate the fact that this picture does not adequately address the incline of the steps Erik & Sadie are climbing.

Here it is. The Great Wall of China photo.

Others seemed interested in fulfilling their own Great Wall of China photo opportunity. Here this woman takes her once-in-a-life-time shot with Emily.

Great Wall = ice cream treat. Who knew?

After descending the steps we were taken to a large Cloisonne factory for a tour. On the second floor is a restaurant that could probably sit 1,000 people. The food was good but there was something unsettling about a kitchen that shares a space with a brass smelter.

ooooh, you got swept into the cloisonne tourist trap! I remember it well! Isn't the Great Wall phenomenal?! Steep inclines for sure but what a engineering masterpiece. Sooooo happy for all your experiences, enjoy.

I'm tired just watching Erik carry Sadie plus a bag up the great wall. Where's the kite parade when you need it?
Emily will be famous in China forever. Molly is much more interested in the great wall now that she knows there is ice cream involved.
Hugs to Sadie & Henry, --thebigwoods
